This ground breaking research is the basis for fertility treatment protocols and has lead to many Reproductive Endocrinologists working with Acupuncturists to assist their patients through the ART process.
Dr. Stener-Victorin’s “Acupuncture and Women’s Health” will include content and acupuncture protocols on: Autonomic & Endocrine Regulation, Anovulation-PCOS, Vasomotor symptoms, overactive bladder, dysmenorrheal & endometriosis, pain relief during oocyte aspiration, acupuncture before and after embryo transfer and pelvic pain during pregnancy.
Dr. Stener-Victorin has worked clinically with Western Medical Acupuncture since 1987 and with Acupuncture research since 1991. Her main focus of investigation is regarding the effect of electro-acupuncture (EA) in reproductive medicine both in clinical and experimental studies. Current research includes: the pain relieving effect of EA, the effect of EA and physical exercise on the sympathetic nervous system, the endocrine system and immune system functioning.
