Traditionally Chinese medicine provided guidance for fetal education and specific advice for the mother to observe to promote a healthy pregnancy. Western medicine research now acknowledges that the health of the mother and uterine environment during pregnancy not only influences the developing baby but also its future health in adult life.

For each month of gestation, Sabine will introduce the roots of knowledge on nurturing the fetus and nurturing life as found in classical literature. Debra will follow with western medical information from the baby's and the mother's perspective.
Throughout this lecture Debra and Sabine will focus on the value of tradition and the classics, the role of Chinese medicine and the practical applications for incorporating this historical and western knowledge into clinical practice.
