Description:

Jane Lyttleon guides you through the basics of Western and Chinese medicine in relation to fertility.  She covers western physiology and pathology as it relates to an acupuncturist treating infertility.  By laying this sound foundation, she explains basic treatment principles on how to treat fertility throughout the 4 phases of a woman's menstrual cycle.

This course gives the practitioner confidence to not only treat fertility issues, but to help explain some of the basic patterns of fertility to their patients.

Charting and analyzing the menstrual cycle using basal body temperature (BBT) are taught, as well as ovulation indicators. Also, gain patient confidence by understanding standard labs and exams routinely encountered during the fertility process.

   1. What it means to be a specialist in infertility
   2. Western reproductive anatomy and physiology: female
   3. Western reproductive pathology and differential diagnosis for infertility
   4. TCM reproductive anatomy and physiology: females
   5. TCM treatment according to the four phases of the menstrual cycle
   6. Laying the foundation - the menstrual cycle in detail and BBT charting according to TCM

Jane, BSc (Hons) NZ, M Phil (London), Dip TCM (Syd), Cert Acup/Herb (China) made a sharp career path change in the late seventies from scientific medical research to chinese medicine. Studies in Australia and hospitals in China at different times over the following 12 years steeped her in the very different medical system, TCM. She has attempted to bring the best of this medicine to a clinical practice in the west addressing the healthcare needs of western women.

This has been my first online seminar. I was so pleasantly surprised at how terrific it was. Jane's ability to explain the information with great understanding brought me back to my computer with great enthusiasm. I appreciate her diligence, her expertise and her ability to teach. I thank you for her teaching and for the Pro-d seminar format. It all works extremely well.
