While there are many studies showing acupuncture can have significant benefits, there are many others that show no effect. Finally, This course shares acupuncture strategies developed by acupuncturists based on Chinese theory and not only western science.
The incorporation of acupuncture into IVF is both challenging and rewarding. In this course, Dr. Brandon Horn and Wendy Yu will share their experience with over 1,000 IVF cycles. As usual, they will not only share their wealth of experience, but will discuss the data so that you will have the tools to address questions about acupuncture's efficacy in IVF. More importantly, they will demonstrate how they apply the protocols to maximize their effects. They will discuss when to use the actual protocols and when and how to modify them. There are also cases where protocols would not be appropriate and these are also discussed along with techniques to manage complications that can occur during an IVF cycle. Some of the topics that will be covered include the management of patients with: poor endometrial lining, ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome, poor ovarian response, poor oocyte maturation, low antral follicle count and high FSH.
